Sasha Bruno is a Miami, FL native, Columbus, OH transplant. Her background in anthropology, natural remedies, alternative medicine, and self healing led her to discover the true healing of acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. Her interest in the human experience, health and culture deepened during her studies at Boston University where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology in 2014. Shortly after, she began her training in acupuncture and TCM in 2015 at the Acupuncture and Massage College in Miami, FL.

She apprenticed and trained at the NSEV Healing and Acupuncture clinic from 2015-2017 while managing the adjacent Chinese herbal pharmacy, Orion Herbs. Her time there showed her the true miracles that are possible with acupuncture and herbs and the wide range of conditions acupuncture can help treat naturally.

As part of her transition to Ohio, she launched her first functional foods business, Botanibites, in 2017 and moved to Ohio. She sold her products in local grocery stores and juice shops until she sold her business in 2021 to commit to her career as an acupuncturist. She transferred to the American Institute of Alternative Medicine in Columbus, OH and graduated with her Master’s degree in early 2021 and became licensed to practice in 2022.

Her treatments focus on addressing the psychosomatic relationships involved in the imbalances causing our pain, conditions, and ailments. Her approach aims to truly sync and heal the body, mind and spirit as one. Specialities include chronic pain, mental health, migraines, hormonal imbalances, pediatrics, and everything in between.

Treatments utilize many different modalities including acupuncture, cupping, guasha, heat therapy, and moxibustion, depending on your specific condition(s) and symptoms. Her goal is to provide time for your body to feel relief, rest, relaxation, and true healing.

Krystal loves seeing patients get better and increase their ability to go through life strong, healthy and balanced. She enjoys working with women through all phases of their lives including regulating cycles and reducing PMS and period pain, increasing fertility and ushering in a graceful menopause. She also to likes working with people to reduce their pain, mitigate the harmful impacts of toxic stress, burnout, trauma and PTSD and to age well. As part of her commitment to expanding access to acupuncture she has experience with gentle needling and non-insertive contact needling techniques in addition to gua-sha and cupping.

When Krystal graduated from Harvard University she had no idea that 20 years later her path would lead her to Chinese Medicine, acupuncture and herbs. The shift began while working at a youth leadership and community development non-profit in East Oakland, CA. There she began to receive regular acupuncture treatments with teenagers and young adults in a very non-sacred setting. She got a chance to experience the medicine, see it work, witness disenfranchised young people seek it out, and hear very blunt questions and descriptions of their internal and external experience with it. It was there that her fascination with the medicine began.

Krystal comes to Ohio Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine from the San Francisco Bay Area. There she went to the Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine College, Berkeley, studied with the First Teaching Hospital at the Tianjin University of TCM in China learning acupuncture and herbal protocols for various neurological disorders, including stroke prevention and treatment. Krystal is also a QiGong Teacher in the Radiant Heart QiGong Tradition.
